Slate Gray Rayon Tangzhuang

Each piece is 100% hand tailored, crafted for those who appreciate the finer details of Chinese heritage fashion. This gray Tangzhuang is made from a carefully selected 78% Rayon, 22% Nylon blend — a combination chosen specifically for formal wear that has to perform.

The Rayon gives the fabric its soft, silky hand and fluid drape. The Nylon gives it the tensile strength and wrinkle resistance to hold its structure across hours of wear. The result is a piece that looks composed at the start of a banquet and still looks composed at the end.

The triangular sheen woven into the fabric is notoriously difficult to execute. The dyeing process alone carries a high failure rate, and the weave density required to achieve the finish pushed the limits of what small mills can handle. Most cannot.

Which is also why this fabric may not exist much longer. The small textile mills in Taiwan capable of producing it are disappearing. Once our current stock runs out, we have no guarantee we can source it again.

The cuffs are finished with our Signature Trim — cut from a pure cotton fabric adorned with a gold-effect metallic print, rooted in the tradition of classical Chinese textile craft. View more on the Signature Trim page.
